IT'S IN THE GENES
For a parenting publication, I'm looking for anecdotes about how we pass genes on to our kids for everything from a taste for broccoli sprouts to a sense of humor. What traits have you seen in your child that are clearly from you or your partner? Maybe your child has an aversion to peach fuzz, sports your partner's crooked pinky and flat feet or loves to draw. How did you discover these inclinations/traits? Humor is a plus. Thanks! Please e-mail me. Deadline: ASAP.

KIDS AND VEGGIES
Looking for Moms in TN, SC, FL, AL, GA who at least sometimes shop at Publix to interview for a story on serving vegetables to kids. Thanks, Suzanne Hall Please e-mail me. Deadline: ASAP.

LET'S YEAR YOUR BIRTH STORIES!
For an article for a national parenting magazine, I want to hear your first-timer birth story, whether it went smoothly or not, was a C-section or not. Please e-mail me. Deadline: ASAP.

DOES NEW MATH CONFOUND YOU?
AP is doing a story on how the latest iteration of New Math continues to confound parents. As some of you with grade-school kids know, they no longer teach kids to borrow in subtraction. Instead they Regroup! Whatever that means. If you try to teach your kid to borrow at home, the teacher amy tell you not to because you might confuse them. So this has spawned a mini-culture of underground parental tutoring. "I'll teach you how to borrow, but you have to promise not to tell anyone!" AP is looking for similar stories, rants, anecdotes from anyone else. Please e-mail Jocelyn Noveck or call her at 212-621-7115. Deadline: ASAP.

HAVING FUN WITH KIDS
I'm looking for a parent to discuss how to have fun with their children for a national magazine (not a parenting magazine). I'm definitely interested in speaking with someone who has children between 8 and 12 on affordable and creative ways to spend time with their kids. Please e-mail me. Deadline: July 24.

INDUCING LABOR
I'm seeking moms who have either a) chosen to induce labor for non-medical reasons or b) been tempted to induce but chose not to. This is for an informative, non-judgmental story helping expectant moms decide for themselves if they're going to pursue elective induction. Thank you! Please e-mail me. Deadline: July 25.

TEACHING VALUES
I'm seeking some moms who have taught their kids values through hands-on experiences or activities. If you've volunteered with your child, for example, or perhaps created a craft/project that had an underlying values message, I'd love to hear from you. Thank you! Please e-mail me. Deadline: August 1.
