The Kid That Doesn’t Drive Yet needs a ride to the lake.
He needs you to pick up his friends first
Across town
In about 20 minutes.
He also needs socks and deodorant.
You know, since you’re out.
And we’re out of milk.
The Kid That Doesn’t Drive Yet might want to have his friends over for dinner tonight.
Or they might just hang out at the lake instead.
It’s hard to say just yet.
He’d ask The Kid That Does Drive, but he’s at work.
Or Drew’s.
Or somewhere.
He can’t remember exactly, but his car isn’t here.
But you are.
And so is your deadline.
And your conference call.
But you will go get his friends and you will drop them all off at the lake.
And you will get a pizza for dinner, perhaps,
If they all decide to come over.
But you’ll give him money to eat at the lake
Just in case.
Because he won’t be the Kid Who Doesn’t Drive Yet for much longer.
And then he’ll be at work.
Or Drew’s.
You won’t remember.
