So, I’m off to BlogHer with 2,500 of my closest mom blogger friends. It’s my first; the annual blogging conference has traditionally been held in cities far away during our week at the Jersey Shore. But this year (this week), it’s in New York, which is practically in my backyard…if my backyard had red double decker buses full of tourists driving through it.
Okay, so I’m not really “off” to New York. I was too cheap to get a hotel room, leaving me to commute back and forth while cursing my decision and my shoes. And it doesn’t necessarily mean that I won’t be blogging, as Microsoft is loaning me a laptop tomorrow as long as I mention online somewhere that it’s a Windows 7 PC. I will make sure to do that.
But I felt like I should say goodbye just the same, if nothing else because I won’t be blogging while children are yelling, “Mooooom! How do you make mac n’ cheese?” and “Mooooom! He won’t share his mac n’ cheese!”
In other words, I kinda feel like I’m going on vacation, even if I’ll be just 30 miles away and not staying overnight. Also, commuting to Manhattan during rush hour. (Pleeeease don’t rain.) Go figure.
But I also wanted to thank you for your support, because I was one of 44 (out of hundreds of mom bloggers who entered) selected for the Project Mom casting call at BlogHer on Saturday. If you missed the hoopla, here’s the one minute (and 16 second) vlog that snagged me the spot:
So anyhow, goodbye. And hello. Feel free to follow the crazy antics at BlogHer on my Twitter feed. Plus, stop by here, because — and I’m not sure if I mentioned this — Microsoft is loaning me a Windows 7 PC tomorrow, so I may well check in at some point.
I’m off to New York, because if you can make it there, you can make sure you get back to the ferry to Jersey on time.
Hope you had a GREAT time! I’m planning on going next year when it’s a bit closer. Congrats on the Project Mom stuff – I’ll check back for updates.
