My sister is a wonderful mother. She battled illness and adversity to ensure her three children had what they needed and worked for what they wanted. Two are now in the service and the other is graduating high school. She works hard as a teacher, and received her masters a few years ago. Brenda is my younger sister, but my hero just the same.

My little one keeps trying to wear play jewelry, which as we all know can have lead and cadmium. I promised her I’d buy her a silver necklace and bracelet. This would be the perfect gift for her. I’d pass on the necklace to my mom, who loves, loves, LOVES jewelry.

I can relate to the Bonsai tree gift. Two years in a row I received some pine trees in pots. This was more than 6 years ago…the trees are still in pots and any ideas that I have for actually putting them in the ground is met with…no, I don’t know where they should go yet….my trees. So now I have 6 root bound trees that I have to water regularly and have completely stained the porch due to the amount of watering that is necessary just to keep them alive. Happy Mother’s Day :)

I’m not sure how much I deserve it but my 8 year old daughter does. Her and my younger son our mine and their fathers world. She is truly the greatest daughter I could ever ask for and since I can’t give her the moon and the stars I would love to be able to give her this bracelet. She doesn’t ask for much but she loves to be like mommy, and how great would this matching set be to show her how much I want to be like her : )

My mom is absolutely amazing. She was with me when both of my children were born and helped me take care of them for the first few weeks. She also helped us move from Alabama to North Carolina. She is always there when I need her and I can call her at anytime and ask advice. I love my mom so much!!

My mom is the most caring, wonderful mom in the world. She always puts other people’s needs before herself. She always wants to know “what can I do for you?” She took care of her mom during many years of Alzheimers.
My mom helped me raise my 2 daughters who are 18 mos. apart.
You are the best Mom – we all love you!

I know that there are so many worthy moms out there, and i do not want to take away from how wonderful they are. As their stories are important and worth mentioning, well, here is my story. My son is now a healthy 19 month old, but prior to the start of the year, i had a horrid time. Call it poor karma, luck, i dont know, but his first year of life consisted of a stomach surgery at 9 weeks which if it did not stick would have been the end of him. 48 hours prior to his surgery on Thanksgiving, i was in a major car accident where my car was totaled and the police was in shock i only walked away with a sprained thumb, as the car came inches from slamming straight in to a tree. My mom gets diagnosed with cancer (she is now a few months in remission) stage 3, my father goes in and out of the hospital without a complete diagnosis following the police taking away his license for a year, i go in to the hospital a couple of times for a physical breakdown, and my in-laws give me and my wonderful husband nothing but difficulties during all of this. Yup, a tough year, which was already tough as all of you know personally, as being a new mom is a challenge in itself. I look to 2010 as a year of new beginnings, change, and continuing to count my blessings, starting with my child. thank you!

My mother rocks! She raised seven children who are still afraid of her today. Today is a wonderful grandmother and enjoys every opportunity to spoil her grandchildren. She spoils them rotten and then sends them home, and even though, sugar high kids drive me insane, I love how much she loves them.

I’m not a mom, and my mom is gone, so I’m entering this on my sister’s behalf. She’s a single mom, and does everything for my nephew, and never gets to do anything for herself. She makes sure he has everything he needs, which leaves little for her to indulge with for herself. I’d love to win so I could give this to her, from my nephew, of course. :)

I’m going to answer this question backwards. My daughter is 8 years old and already a cancer survivor of Leukemia. We’ve had a long hard struggle. Just about the time she was diagnosed, I had a newborn baby, her brother. Since that time all she asks for is more “Mama Love”. I am always at a loss of how to show her she means the sun, moon, and stars to me. I hope that we can win this and help her feel more of the love I have in my heart for her. She is so brave and does what she needs to do despite all her fears (and mine!). She still has quite a journey ahead of her from the side effects of the chemotherapy. Hopefully this gift would help her feel more grounded and accept the love that is already here.

Wow, where do I begin? LOL I LOVE my husband but, I don’t love his gift giving abilities (or lack thereof). I like to think that I give subtle enough hints as to what I really want for occasions such as my birthday and Christmas, but rarely does he pick up on those. I don’t ask for much… flowers for my planter boxes, gift certificates to get my hair done, etc. Do I ever get things like that? NO! His idea of what he calls “The Best Gift Ever” was a Bonsai Tree! No kidding! He spent hours (that is still questionable) looking for the perfect gift, and all he could come up with was a Bonsai Tree! He even bought “special” wrapping paper for it. The paper was shiny gold. He also made me open that gift last because it was the BEST! LOL I have to give him some credit. I guess it could be worse, I’m not sure how, but at least he tries!
